Publishers stacked this week heavily. Nearly every major release landed on July 14 and 15, including two books from J.M. Clarke on the same day and the ninth entries of two long runners. Nine releases made the cut.
New Series
Penitent by C.B. Titus
C.B. Titus starts a gritty new isekai series. Michael wakes in the body of a child whose death he caused, and the kingdom sentences him to serve as a Penitent, a conscript soldier working off a blood debt. Advancement runs on deeds: acts written on the soul convert into ranks and powers, and every scar earned grants something in return. The setting is a military academy with squad tactics and a paladin protagonist. Suits readers of A Soldier’s Life and anyone who wants progression with a moral bill attached. Aethon publishes, with audio narrated by Heath Miller. Out July 14.

Chrysalis 9: Antdustrial Revolution by RinoZ
The termite war is settled, so Anthony the sapient ant and his colony look to the fourth stratum, a layer of cities, kingdoms, and open water. Book 9 sends him on a trade mission through it. The monster-evolution core stays intact: biomass, mutations, and colony upgrades drive the progression. This is book 9 of a planned 10, which puts the Royal Road megahit one volume from the finish line. Out July 15.

Accidental Champion 8 by Todd Herzman
Xavier Collins chose Champion because he liked the sound of the word, and eight books later he is still paying for it in tower floors. Herzman’s system-apocalypse tower climber runs on dungeon pushes, a detailed System, and build momentum you can track from volume to volume. Amazon’s series page now lists eight books total, which suggests the run is wrapping, though we found no formal finale announcement. In Kindle Unlimited. Out July 15.
Unintended Cultivator: Volume Nine by Eric Dontigney
Sen returned from the capital and reluctantly founded a sect, and volume nine is about what that costs. Sect politics, rivalries, and the logistics of protecting dependents fill the book, with a daughter he will guard at any price at the center. The cultivation advancement is steady and the pacing deliberate; this series spends its time on character. Book 9 of a planned 10. Out July 14.
Blood (Oaths, Blood, and Coin Book 2) by J.M. Clarke
J.M. Clarke’s second release of the week drops the System entirely. Blood continues Oaths, Blood, and Coin, the progression fantasy epic he writes solo. Clarke also writes Mark of the Fool, and this series shows the same interest in disciplined, earned advancement. Out July 15.
Rune Seeker 8 by J.M. Clarke and C.J. Thompson
Book 8 of the co-written LitRPG from J.M. Clarke and C.J. Thompson, whose co-author wrapped his Spark of War trilogy on July 1. The rune-based magic system has carried this series across eight volumes at a steady clip since 2023. Audio comes from Recorded Books with Ralph Lister narrating. Out July 15.
My Big Goblin Space Program 3 by Scott Warren
An astronaut dies and is reborn as a goblin, then sets about dragging his tribe up the tech tree toward orbit. Book 3 keeps the engineering-first progression: problems get solved with materials science, rocketry, and goblin labor organized into something resembling a space agency. The premise is comedic and the execution is competent. Podium produces the audio with Jay Aaseng narrating. Out July 14.
Labyrinth of the Mad God 2 by Magnus Grey
Magnus Grey follows Skill Eater with a dungeon-delve isekai that already ran to completion on Royal Road as a three-book arc, so the series has a known shape and a finished story waiting at the end. Book 2 continues the labyrinth crawl beneath its unstable patron god. Aethon publishes. Out July 14.
Small-Town Crafter 9: The Wondrous Workshop by Tom Watts
Lewis the artificer reached journeyman rank and now takes on his biggest commission: building a new artificery workshop in Sunhampton, with apprentices of his own to teach. This is a cozy, low-stakes crafting LitRPG and it is honest about that; the stakes are commissions, craftsmanship, and community. Book 9 arrives one month after book 8. Out July 14.
