New Gamelit Releases: Week of August 17, 2026

Seven releases landed between August 10 and August 14, and the calendar went quiet after that. One of them is a debut, L.D. Hopkins’ Sovereign System from Aethon, and the other six are continuing volumes. Aethon’s next run of Book 1 launches starts August 18, so most of this month’s new-series activity sits in the back half.

New Series

Sovereign System by L.D. Hopkins

Luke wakes up in the body of a murdered noble’s son with a stolen birthright, one lethally loyal butler, and the Sovereign System, which gives him a flat ultimatum: achieve dominance or be removed. The two headline skills say what the book is about. Scholarly Pursuit lets him read thousands of volumes into working strategic knowledge in days, and Domineering Air bends hardened soldiers to his command. Progression here runs through the command layer, so Luke levels his subordinates alongside his own leadership abilities and wins by out-planning larger forces, with Three Kingdoms era warfare and homemade Thunder Bombs filling in the tactics. Aethon released it August 11 at 543 pages, with a 15 hour audiobook narrated by Nick Flesher. A good fit for readers who like isekai with an army behind the protagonist and progression measured in territory and troops.

Continuing Series

Lord of EXP Farming 3 by D. Pidge

Book three opens with Jordan’s base in rubble and a High Lord holding the sky above it. The progression is industrial: fleet size, manufacturing throughput, and how far he can push his drone army’s capabilities before the next System Quest arrives. This volume adds a plot at the planet’s core, where six chains hold something an entire earlier civilization died trying to contain. It started as a Royal Road serial with over half a million views and keeps that serial pacing. Out August 10, 384 pages, free on Kindle Unlimited, audiobook narrated by Christian J. Gilliland. For readers who want base building with an engineering emphasis.

Machinist of Mana 3 by Wandering Agent

Percival Shadestone builds machines that run on steam and mana at once, and Wandering Agent treats that as an engineering discipline. Percival designs, tests, and refines his skills the way a craftsman would, and his standing advances through rank and reputation as much as through raw power. Book three sends him undercover to the elven continent of Elazia to investigate a massacre and the zealotry behind it, which moves the series from courtly politics into an investigation plot while keeping the workshop at the center. Released August 10, free on Kindle Unlimited. Suits readers who like a deliberate pace and progression earned through invention and social maneuvering.

Beers, Bakes, & Bonecrafting by Tom Watts

Book two of Neighborhood Necromancer keeps Benny at Lightroot Manor with his undead tortoise familiar Remy and a steady stream of jobs at the necromancy store. The work this time is a contested will, a haunted grocery store, and the skill ranking he needs to earn next. Watts writes the stakes low on purpose. The tension is domestic, the trouble is administrative, and most chapters end at a warm kitchen table. Aethon released it August 12 at 470 pages, with a 12 hour audiobook narrated by Christian J. Gilliland. Aimed squarely at readers who liked Legends & Lattes and want a progression spine underneath the comfort.

Hell Difficulty Tutorial 8 by Cerim

Nathaniel is still working through a tutorial that keeps escalating, still dealing with severe mana deficiency, and now enjoying his post as Assistant Professor in the Academy arc. Book eight covers a Beyond quest with a group he did not choose, a contract offer from one of the top Beyond guilds with hidden clauses worth reading twice, and two attendees who stand out from the rest of the cast. At 741 pages it is the longest release of the week, and the Floor Quest structure and system detail stay as heavy as the series has always run them. Aethon, August 12. This one is for readers already deep in the series.

Of Hunters and Immortals 3 by Shadowwwing

Jiang is a hunter with genuine contempt for sects, face, and the whole cultivation hierarchy, and he is climbing it anyway because bandits destroyed his village and took his mother and sister. His route is the Pact-bearer path, a forbidden method the established sects have worked to erase, which keeps his advancement outside sanctioned ranks. The series’ best mechanic is the cost of speed: every fast breakthrough draws attention from enemies he is not yet equipped to survive, so power growth functions as a liability alongside the conspiracy that connects the raid on his village to factional politics running years deep. Out August 13, free on Kindle Unlimited. Grim-toned xianxia, three books in and ongoing.

The Blood Code (Book 5) by Michael Borz

Mikhail Komarin was burned at the stake in a past life for following the Blood Code, and he is now reborn into a dishonored house with a bounty on his head. Power comes through blood, bloodlines, and pacts with entities like the Altar of the Primal Elements, which gives the system a negotiated quality where each gain has a named price. Book five continues the war against a named enemy and the divine dispute that has been running under the revenge arc since the first volume. Released August 14, free on Kindle Unlimited. A historical setting sitting between traditional fantasy and system-driven progression, with escalation that moves fast.
